Oil dripping out of upper weep hole?

I have a mid 80's merc, 7.5hp. I just changed the lower leg oil. I took it to the lake for a test run yesterday, and today, I noticed some fresh oil coming out of a little hole just above the vent screw. Anyone know what that means?
Thanks

If I read correctly, the weeping of fresh oil, if it is gear oil would indicate a leak most likely in the seals on the driveshaft under the water pump.

Yes, fresh oil. The oil looks exactly like when I put it in, except that it's not staying in. Thanks for the tip.
