Re: Oil Filling problems, please HELP.

dont let these guys lead u through a wiring goose chase. i had this problem on my 92 200 2 stroke. i had guys try to fix it and the best on this site told me to research links and connect this wire to this wire. there is a 120 dollar replacement float/sensor in your oil tank on the engine.it has a connection on it which is also the alarm sensor, the float on it basically detects level of oil then transfers it. first u should check the oil filter on the main oil tank on your boat to make sure its not clogged , then check the oil pump itself on the main tank, if its clear and the pump works then i can bet ya its the float unit in the reserve tank.

Re: Oil Filling problems, please HELP.

hope this will help. #1. is your boat oil tank less than 1/4 full. is the yellow light or the oil indicator arrow on the "midle bar" of your tac. oil will not transfer to the motor if the float in the boat oil tank is in the down position.
#2. if you can transfer oil with the "switch" on the motor, this is good. we know that the oil filter is clean and the oil pump is good.
#3. test: unplug the motor oil tank float switch. turn on key switch. use a jumper wire and ground out the blue/green wire in the harness to turn onthe oil pump. ground out the blue/wht. wire to stop it. if the pump turns on and off, the problem will be in the float switch in the motor oil tank.
hope this helps.
