Oil from prop

1996 force 50 hp just bought it,I have milky white water leaking from the propeller after flushing with a hose only.Ihave not had it in the water yet.Also when running the water exhaust holes have gas or oil mixed with the water.Thanks Kevin

Sounds like a prop shaft seal. I would get a seal kit for your lower unit and replace all of them. Replace the impellor while your at it. Good luck and welcome to iboats.

Have you checked the oil inside of the lower unit yet?<br /><br />If this is milky, you probably have a seal failure.<br /><br />But if it is clean, then you may just have oil leaking down out of the exhaust. Usually it is dark, but I have had this milky seapage when the oil mixed with cold water from the hose. <br /><br />Check the oil inside the lower unit before making repairs.
