Oil from prop

1996 force 50 hp just bought it,I have milky white water leaking from the propeller after flushing with a hose only.Ihave not had it in the water yet.Also when running the water exhaust holes have gas or oil mixed with the water.Thanks Kevin

Sounds like a prop shaft seal. I would get a seal kit for your lower unit and replace all of them. Replace the impellor while your at it. Good luck and welcome to iboats. :)

Have you checked the oil inside of the lower unit yet?<br /><br />If this is milky, you probably have a seal failure.<br /><br />But if it is clean, then you may just have oil leaking down out of the exhaust. Usually it is dark, but I have had this milky seapage when the oil mixed with cold water from the hose. <br /><br />Check the oil inside the lower unit before making repairs.
