Re: oil/fuel ratio

50:1 - if you use a 32 oz bottle then put in 12 gallons. 16 oz bottle - 6 gallons

Re: oil/fuel ratio

Welcome. 50:1, as stated. Might be an exception -- slightly richer mix -- if the motor was just rebuilt and is being broken in, but not sure.

Too lean will ruin the motor. Too rich (too much oil) will just foul plugs and could make for some other nastiness -- would not resolve typical running issues. Many 2-cycle containers will give you the amount of oil needed for various amounts of gas. If testing out the engine in a tank, it's better to use a couple of gallons of fresh gas and oil, at that 50:1 ratio. Unless you know the gas in the tank is fresh, it's a good idea to start over.
