Oil high pressure after starting from storage

I started my boat up after winter, 3.0 inboard Penta GLP-E and I noticed the oil gauge is at 80 instead of it's normal 40. The needle is fluctuating slightly however around 80. The boat starts up ok. the boat was stored indoors.Any suggestions?

Probably a bad connection, but can also be the gauge or sender. If the sender wire is grounding out against something it will peg the meter

Connect a mechanical gauge to where the oil sender is and check

To check gauge, turn key ON and gauge should show zero. Then ground the sender wire to the block and gauge should peg high
