Oil in cylinders

Yesterday I bought a 99 sea swirl with a 5.0 volvo penta. I bought it knowing it needed a new starter so i replaced that right away. Once i replaced that i found that the engine did not want to turn over, it was beginning to crank but it was going extremely slow. I pulled the plugs out and found antifreeze on each plug. When i called the person i bought it from he said he winterized it by filling each cylinder with antifreeze.... after that i blew out all the cylinders changed the oil and plugs and ran more oil through it to flush it out. I tried starting it today and it wanted to start at first but then gave me nothing. pulled the plugs and found that every one of them was fouled out with oil. Im going to tear into it tomorrow but what do you think? Head gaskets went from the pressure of trying to crank it with coolant in the cylinders? maybe the rings?

Measure the compression first. It's likely OK. Just need to get it started enough to get rid of the anti-freeze. I bet the "oil" you see is actually antifreeze.

Pretty dumb move on the PO's part. Wonder what other stupid things he did.

How did you do this if it was not starting........ "ran more oil through it to flush it out."
