I have a 95 mercury 40HP (serial#0G291100). My new purchase had an oil tank with about a cup of water in the oil tank. All is cleaned out, issues fixed and I know the oil injection is working. My questions are: 1. does this motor have an alarm if the OI stops working. The oil level alarm works...I was just wondering if there is something that tells you if the engine isn't get oil other than the tank sensor. 2. Is this motor's oil injection the "good" system that I have read about or the not so good version. Thanks to anyone who can/will take the time to help me out.

I have a 95 mercury 40HP (serial#0G291100).
Thanks for the serial number... Makes it so much easier, I just copy and paste it into the parts CD program and I have your engine in front of me :D:D

This is the good version. Very reliable, except for the float in the tank... The magnets have a habit of falling off the float and firing the alarm, even with the tank full of oil.
