Oil Injection Alarm Wont Stop

I have a 1993 Merc 200 EFI. I have removed the oil injection system, the oil pump wiring sensor, and the oil reservoir sensor wires. However, when I start the engine I am still getting a fast beep (the oil injection beep). What other wires do I need to disconnect to make this beeping stop? I want to ensure that the temperature alarm is still working as well. Thanks in advance.

If it continues to beep, I cant help you, but if it beeps a couple times and then stops, thats just letting you know that the beeper is working.

Yes it is a continuous beep that does not stop. I still get the ignition beep when I first turn the key, but once the motor is running, I get the fast beeping.

There has to be another wire that I don't know about or do I need to wire together (connect) the ends of some of the wires that I removed with the oil injection. I thought if I simple unplugged all the wires it would stop the beeps, but by unplugging the exising sensor wires I have either broken or completed the the wiring circuits.

I am at a loss on this and would like to try any suggestions any of you may have. Thanks.

I am really not the one to answer this question, and Im sure if you keep at it you will get the right answer. If I had to make another guess, I would say that where you unhooked the wires from the engine oil resevior is the problem. May not be the best method, but if you short those wires to each other I bet the beeping stops as thats all the float in the tank does.

Trace your wire from the overheat sender to where it joins the harness. There should be a screw with three wires. One goes to the heat sender, the second to the harness, the third to the oil module. Take the oil module wire off the terminal.

I am going to try and find this on the motor. I will post a follow up.

Boatwizard,

I have a tan wire with a blue stripe that comes out of the block and goes to the screw you are talking about. On the screw I have 2 other tan/blue wires, one goes to the main wiring harness that I assume leads into the boat (drivers seat) the other tan/blue wire goes to a rectangular box on top of the motor that has several other wires coming out of it. Is this tan/blue wire going to the box the one to disconnect for the oil? I thought the tan/blue wires were all temp wires?

Also, once I disconnect the wires, is there an easy way to test the temperature warning buzzer?

The purple wire that runs from the oil injection box to the switch board controls the oil buzzer. take the purple wire off and the buzzer will hush.
