Hey everyone, I'm in the process of taking the oil injection off my Regal Rush with the Merc Sportjet 175 in it. I've got everything off and disconnected, but was wondering if the rotational sensor needs to be looped to see a signal or just unplugged. I've got it disconnected at the rear of the motor only, not actually from the buzzer itself. Hoping someone can shed some light on this for me so I can get back on the water quick. Also I've got one hose that I think needs to be blocked off with a screw or cap. Here's a pic of it. Also a pic of where the wires are disconnected. Any help would be greatly aprreciated.

Re: Oil injection removal questions

The alarm module can be completely removed, including the green wire that connects it to one ignition coil. The module compares the rotation sensor signal to the ignition signal, any difference sets off the oil alarm.

VERIFY that the temp sensor(s) still work by grounding the tan wire, with the key ON the solid alarm tone should sound as the temp alarm is separate from the oil alarm module.

Thanks Charlie! Any idea where the module is located? Also any idea on the hose I have pictured? I'm pretty sure it just needs to be capped off. I'm trying to get all this taken care of by this weekend, I've got 2 girls that wanna go out! Hahaha thanks again!

Thanks Nesar! I'm going to have to take another look for the oil alarm module when I get a chance. Anyone have any tips for mixing large amount of gas and oil? I'm pretty sure I've got a 20-25 gallon tank. Gonna be a 50:1 mix. I'm thinking put the oil in at home, then go get gas. By the time I get to the ramp with all the bouncing and shaking from driving 5 or so miles on the trailer should have it good and mixed right? Here's a few pics of the boat. I still have to clean it up a little.

I did, there's one wire that goes to the overheat/oil alarm that needs to be cut and taped off. I put a water temp gauge in as a backup, but the overheat alarm works also. It doesn't sound during the test when you turn the key, but it does work. I'll get you a picture of the exact wire next time I'm over near the boat. Might be a few days.

Did you ever get a pic of the wire? i was able to eliminate the oil alarm and keep the overheat alarm by cutting he brown wire that goes into the ecm. only problem is with this wire cut the enrichment valve dont work, making it hard to start when engine is cold..
