oil injection

recently purchased 93 johnson 90 4cyln. jet. ran well on mixed gas. have oil tank and want to install. do wire leads route to controls? no visable connection at control. also can i test oil system to be sure it is operable?any input is appreciated. thanks

Welcome to iboats.

Do you have a VRO2 or the OMS system? What are your reasons for wanting to re connect?

1 - Remove the plug for the oil line at the engine, re installing oil line. Trace the wires from the back of the VRO to its rubber plug and connect it for the electrical.

2 - Connect the two wires from the oil tank to the engine

Test the heat warning system by having the key in the on position, then ground out the tan heat sensor wire that you'll find protruding from the cylinder head. The warning horn should sound off.

hi chris thanks for quick reply. do not know which syseem i have. no wires on pump. disconected 4 pin plug to silence alarm. 2 loose wires in motor 1 tan female 1 black male. could be for leads from tank? had a 50 merc jet for 10 years without a problem. i like the conveience. thanks agaim tom r.

Wait - you say you have no wires on the pump but you unhooked a 4 pin connector to silence the alarm. Those 4 wires should go to the pump. Right?

If the pump on the engine doesn't look like this, you don't the VRO pump. The oil tank does no good without a VRO pump.

double checked found wires thanks. also thanks to chris both sites very imformitive. do leads from tank go to 2 wires in motor? what do you think of this motor? j90jlets. thanks tom r
