I am wanting to remove the oil injection unit from my 91 60 hp johnson. In doing so, is it more trouble than it's worth and what is the oil/fuel mix ratio for this? Just in case your wondering why? The boat that I am going to put this motor on does not have a lot of room in the back. After I put the two six gallon gas tanks back there, there's not much room for anything else.

Thanks,

Smitty

Re: oil injection

i did this on my 93 40 hp johnny, unplug the oil sensor wiring harness, cut the oil hose before the connection at the motor, and plug. premixed gas 50-1. i still am using the vro fuel pump, without the oil side. will replace with standard pump when this one fails, if ever.

Re: oil injection

the fuel pump your motor has two functions, or sides, one is the oil side, the other the gas side. eliminating the oil to the oil side, eliminates the auto mix cycle. just the gas side pumps the premix. no need to change it till it craps out. at that time you change it to a standard fuel pump for $50 instead of the OMS pump at $300
