oil - intake

It looks as if when I run my 6hp 1990 evinrude oil seems to be coming out the water intake hole. What could be causing this?

More than likely it is unburned exhaust.<br /><br />However, have you checked the lower unit fluid lately?

Seems like I may have too much oil in the lower unit. If I remove the top(fill) screw, oil flows from the top hole when the motor is upright.

Check for water in that oil. For it to overflow there must be something adding to the oil
