i have a 1970 evinrude(25002C) 25hp sportster. when it runs, it looks like oil is weeping out of a small hole on the right side of the motor just above the skeg, below the oil drain plug. is this normal? Im assuming it is not. what could it be from?
There's an exhaust chamber drain hole just above the anti-cavitation plate. Is that where it's 'leaking'. If yes, it's just un-burned fuel/oil mix draining out after the water has drained. If your wondering if it's gear lube, set the motor upright on a stand for a couple hours and briefly pull the lower gearcase drain plug and inspect for water, or 'milky' lube. If it's just lube, no-worries.
