Oil light on in gear

I just picked up a dinghy with a 2004 Johnson 15hp J15R4SR I rebuilt the carb because it would not idle. Now I got it idling and when I put into gear the oil light comes on.
Where should I start on this issue? I changed the oil and filter and double checked filter even. Level and filter are good. I looked at the sensor and its plugged in I have not pulled off and checked anything yet.
Hoping to get suggestions on where to go first.

If you can find an oil pressure gauge and fittings you could check the oil pressure that way. Other wise just replace the sender and see what happens.
