I have a 50hp mercury serial #09742290, model #MER1050312NB, description ME-50ELO, MADE IN Belgium. I've been told to mix oil 6:1 in the fuel plus oil in the motor . Should I be putting oil in both or just in the motor? Also when I turn on the key I get "ONE" beep till I start the motor. Does this mean something is wrong?

Thanks,
Scrub

Re: Oil mix

One beep represents that the warning system is functioning. If there was NO beep you should be alarmed.

Judging by your Model num you have a 50 hp Oil injected engine. You should not have to put oil in the gas.

Is your oil injection Autoblend? or is it driven off the crank?

Now about the 6:1 I kinda doubt the engine will run very good...if at all...thats a ton of oil to put through.

TMD

Re: Oil mix

Thank you for the information. I'm not sure what you mean by auto blend. I can add oil at the top of the motor if that's what you are talking about.
Could you explain?
Thank you,
Scrub

Re: Oil mix

Autoblend is a seperate oil tank between the gas tank and the motor. It supposedly mixes the oil for you. From all I have read in here, mine is being disconnected today and I will mix my own in the tank at 50:1. I have a 115 inline.

Nick
