Changed out plugs today (correct ones) every plug had oil on the threads, looking through lots of info, one site suggest that excessive idleing (which is the case) can cause the plugs not to get hor enough to burn oil/fuel off... Any thoughts?
Thanks, Rick

So were the plugs wet with oil? Or were they just black?

how dirty are the valve covers? if the valve covers are leaking, oil could drip down the sides of the heads into the plug holes and start seeping down the threads.

could have some blow by past the rings as well but I'd look at the valve covers first. replace them with rubber gaskets, not cork if they are bad.

Valve covers dry as a bone, no oil dripping anywhere...... Thanks

is the motor consuming any oil? how many hours on it? valve guide seals could be all dried up and hard letting oil drip down the vlaves into the chamber and getting on the plug threads that way.
