Oil/Overheat Pre-Alarm not sounding when I turn the key. I previously wrote about a problem I was having last season with the oil/overheat alarms going on too frequently or continuously. This year my first running had an ironic twist - the alarms did not sound at all. Not even when they are supposed to - when the key is turned. I have a merc 135v6 1988. Can anyone give me a reason for this. I am happy that my alarms are not annoying me any longer but also afraid that there may be some new problem.
Thanks
Doug

Doug did you get any responses? I posted the same question for my 1988 Mariner 115 HP L6 on the engines and motor section under no alarm at start.

All your previous problems may have worn the alarm speaker, or emitter out. I would certainly check the wiring to the sensor and then the emitter itself.
