Guys,
I unfortunately found an oil leak originating at the junction between the oil pan and drain fitting... UGGGHHH:mad-new:

Looks like there are some o-rings and washers there and I'm hoping that its just as simple as the replacing the oring and washers item #'s 49, 57 and 58

I do have a little bit of rust on the pan where the fitting is but I definitely see that the leak is originating at the junction of the fitting and the pan (I wiped it clean and then with a mirror watched where the oil came out from. It's a very slow drip.

Here's a photo

REALLY REALLY REALLY don't wanna have to pull the motor.

Is this fitting screwed in? Can I unscrew and replace the washer and orings?? Hope for the best?

Seems like every time I go to fix/replace one thing I find another issue:facepalm:

thanks in advance for all your input!

So I've been reading and researching and getting conflicting results on how this fitting connects with the oil pan... Is it threaded in or press fit?? Some show threaded, some show press. I'm not going to chance messing it up more cause of the rust around the fitting so I'm going to drain/pump out the oil, clean the area up, and patch it up with jb marine and see what happens. I know, i know... this isn't the right way to do it, and the right way to do it would be to pull the motor but I just don't have the time or the space to do that now. Gonna try this and see if it works, if not, then I guess I'll have no choice.

based on the rust on the pan, you are going to want to pull the motor to address the rust. you may have a rust-thru situation.

the fitting is threaded into the bottom of the pan, just like the drain plug on your truck.

I unscrewed mine because I found oil in the bilge, and found the gasket split. But that didn't fix the oil leak which I eventually discovered was a loose fuel pump.
