I was given a 1988 Searay Seville w/ a 3.0L by a familly member . I took it out today for the first time and I noticed that the oil pressure gauge is running from 20-45psi. I changed the oil before hand. The gauge quivers could this be the gauge or the sending unit. Is there some way to check either one? Also water temp. is running at 145f is this normal? The motor is like new all the stickers are still on it and the bilge looks like no oil ever saw the bilge. The boat ran 38mph and started on the first try and ran smooth and quiet. I ran it for about 1 1/2 hours....Ted

Re: Oil pressure 3.0L

It could just be an over sensitive sending unit. Check the oil...has it gone up or down?

You will get some variance in oil pressure as you cruise through the rpm ranges.

AS for engine temp..145 is fine.

TMD
