Hey,

Looking for any help.. I had my Maxum 1900SR V-8 Carb. Alpha 1 in for repair. Just got it back last week. Took it out and it ran great.. BUT

I noticed that my Oil pressure guage when I start the boat shows a little lower than the mid range of the guage. I take up thr RPM's and the pressure come into mid range.

When out and in gear it runs in mid range but if I take it down a little on the RPM's I see the pressure come down a little as well.

On my way back to dock yesterday I pulled back on the throttle to ease into the dock the pressure fell and the engine stalled.

It started right up again and pressure did the same as I described.

I recently had my shift shaft seal, shift cable and PVC valve replaced. Had water leaking from my shift cable. Replaced my water pump in the spring. Mech checked pressure on electric pump in April and said it was ok as well.

Any advice as to what I should be looking at here?

You need to be more specific about your engine....
Year, Make & CID?.....
What kind of oil pressure #'s are you talking about?.....

2002 Maxum 1900SR V-8 Alpha 1. Carbed.

My Oil guage reads 40 as the mid-range. (If I remeber correctly) When it drops it goes to the low end of the "normal range on the dial)

Does this help at all???

Re: Oil pressure drops boat stalls out

The boat manufacturer is irelevant.....
Well, I guess you have a GM 350 CI?.....
Oil pressure dropping is normal when lowering RPM's.....
& vice versa.....
40#'s is OK......
The other work you had done should have no effect on your symptom.....
Is the choke working properly?.....
How do the plugs look?.....
