I have a 1993 Yamaha 175, The low oil light is on but both the reservoir tank on the motor and the main tank are full.. The motor barely runs in gear and only slightly better out of gear. However when I first started it up it ran perfectly for about 30 min at about 1200 rpm and only when I tried to come up did the motor die out and then only allow low rpms. I pulled off an oil tube leading from the pump to the block while running the motor and did notice that some oil was being pumped out.. but the motor still runs really rough and the light is still on.. I've tried pulling out the float gauge on the reservoir tank and flipping it. I recently installed a new Racor water sep filter, and put in new plugs. I added fresh fuel with additives as well. I cant figure this one out. Any ideas out there?
