I have a generation 4 7.4 motir im getting ready to stop in my 1990 sea ray sundancer. Before putting it in I decided to prime the oil pump by installing my primer in the distributor hole & priming it that way. It did get up to 64 psi on my gauge until the drill bogged down drastically. I pulled the primer out & noticed that when I put a screwdriver down on the pump shaft that it is really hard to turn. Shouldn’t it turn pretty easily?

The bog on the drill is normal. It takes 3.5hp to run that pump

I had it priming find the past couple times, and then all of a sudden it got really hard to spin and then stripped out my oil pump primer itself where it attaches to the drill.
