Oil seal tool

hello,

Im installing the oil shaft seals for the out drive, and I was wondering if I could use sockets to install the seals, and if so, what size sockets do I need?

Ayuh,.... Donno which seals, but I've seated many seals in alota things usin' a socket,.....

Ya need whatever size clears the housin', but not by much,......

So I took a threaded rod, Put two nuts on it and tightened them together, then I took a washer of the size that I needed and placed that over the rod that butted up against the nuts. The rod was a 5/8th with a 5/8th washer for one seal and then a 1/2 inch washer for the other (the outside diameter of the washers matched the outside of the seals). it worked perfectly!
