I have a 1990 175 HP Mercury Black Max and my oil alarm keeps going beep beep beep all the time and I can't solve why it's doing it....I have read the manual and tried some things but to no avail...It appears that low oil in the supply tank to the motor is the only thing that makes the beeper sound on this motor.....Is that true?.....If I mix oil with my gas at 50 to 1, can I just let the oil supply reservoir run empty and not use it anymore?

Re: Oil Sensor Problems 175 Black Max

i think i am having the same problems with my 91 mercury blackmax xr4 150. it just started beeping over and over while it is running. i checked with some people and checked my sensor which seems to work but have been told the round washer on the top of your float has to be attached to the float to work properly which mine is not. or i think it is the module (little black box) that my blue wire from my sensor is going to might be malfuctioning. i don't think it is hurting my engine but you never know. I DON'T HAVE A SERVICE MANUAL AND WAS WANDERING IF YOU WOULD SEND THE PAGES ABOUT THE OIL SENSOR AND MODULE TO ME SO I DON'T HAVE TO BUY ONE?
THANKS--SUPERFLUKE
