Have a 96 Seadoo GTX that I converted to pre-mix. I have removed the oil tank. What can I do to stop the low oil light and reminder from coming on?

Re: Oil Tank Question

why did you remove the oil tank??? the rotary valve needs oil even if you removed the oil pump, you can use an automotive cooling system flush fitting between the 2 big hoses and fill them with oil for the rotary valve, using the cap to add oil when needed, as for the oil light jump the 2 wires that feed the sending unit, when you jump them together the light will go off, if you don't fix the oil supply to the rotary valve issue you will burn up the berrings on the rotary shafy.

Re: Oil Tank Question

No, I did put a flush fitting on it and filled it with the pre-mix I'm using. I gutted the inside over the winter because it had a bad oil leak all over and when putting it back together I just didn't put the tank back in .

Re: Oil Tank Question

you are fine then, most times people don't know the rotary valve compartment is full of oil, had a kid do that to a 580 and didn't realize it needed oil in there.

Yea, I didn't know either till a friend told me about it while I was doing it. I probably would have ended up like that kid.

Re: Oil Tank Question

since it isn't being used for the combustion part of the engine I used synthetic oil and some teflon for better lubrication and longevity. Did you jump the 2 wires and turn off the light.
