oil tank

do the wires coming out of the oil resevoir for my evinrude 225 looper hook up back at the engine or straight to the key switch or warning horn. If they go back to the engine what color are the wires? My manual doesn't cover this part.

elwilliams13,The remote oil tank alarm wires lead to connectors under the motor cover.Most of the wires on later model engines from remote tank are 1 black,and 1 yellow.You can confirm color and connector location by simply tracing the two leads from the remote oil tank to the connectors.

Depending on the year of your 225, the wires are black and tan inside a sleeve, or both black that looks like lamp cord.<br /><br />Including a model number with your question would help.
