I have a 1971 merc 888, rebuilt ford 302 188hp block. The guy before me said he used synthetic oil, but did not say what brand or weight. I have drained the oil and replaced the filter. Is there any problem to switch to a dino marine 30wt or should I stick to a synthetic?

Thanks Bondo. I was hoping to get an answer without starting the oil wars again!

Of coarse, I would stick with a synthetic, but your engine will not puke the Dino out on you.

Sillyness aside, do what makes ya happy.
