Re: oil verify

<br /><br />When I first bought my used Evinrude 40 with VRO, I had the same question.<br />To be sure of proper lubrication during the test, I mixed a 50:1 tank of fuel to use while checking the system. If the VRO wasn't working, I didn't want to destroy the motor.<br />I then made a mark on the oil tank at the oil level when I started. I checked that mark to be sure oil was being used from the tank. It actually took 15 or 20 gallons of premix fuel before I was 100% comfortable that it was working.<br />Although that doesn't definitely tell you it is working correctly, it does tell you it is using the oil from the oil tank. It seemed like if the oil was going to the motor, all was good.<br /><br />Charles
