I have a 1992 100hp Merc. The oil and overheat warning horn in the control box has a constant but very low beep when I run above 3000 rpm. I tested the overheat sensor and the oil float switch and all seem fine. I wonder if I have a short in the wiring harness, horn circut or a bad module. Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks

Maybe you're over heating.. Is it a constant beep, or a regular intermitten beep?

If it's constant, it may be an overheat.. and I'd check that the poppet is opening first.

Scott..

Take and short one of the wires prior to the sensors. Listen for the alarm. See if it is the same as the one you normally hear.

If it is indeed the same...then you have a problem that needs taking care of.

TMD
