I have 1956 evinrude fastwin electric 15, runs good. I was doing a test run in a barrel and i noticed all this oil/water froth kind of stuff floating around. When i took the motor out of the barrel the same goo was running out of a little drain hole at the base of the exhaust housing just above the gear case. So i dug in and open it up to find that the inside of the ehaust housing had a coating of the goo. The motor had been sitting for who knows how many years before i got it. I'm running 24:1 87 octane with a splash of seafoam. Any input would be great, thanks for time.

oil is normal when running in a bucket. If you are worried check the gear lube in the lower for water intrusion.

mullet, you need to understand how a two-stroke engine works. It is lubricated by oil in the gas. Every drop of that oil you put in the gas goes through the engine, where it does it's job on the first pass through. Then some of it burns (makes smoke) and teh rest goes out the exhaust, where it mixes with the spent cooling water. That is the goo you are looking at. It is concentrated because you are running it in a container.

Get it out of that barrel and on a boat on the lake, get it adjusted properly, and you will notice far less discharge. I said notice....it's still there.

Try running RBMs (row boat motors) early 1910's, at extemely rich mixtures like 6:1 or 8:1, test tank is a mess after a few trial runs!
