OIL WEIGHT? Firing Order OMC COBRA 3.0 4 cyl? Won't start 1989

I used 5w30 Penzoil with some LUCAS OIL ADDITIVE is this right? Also can anyone confirm the firing order on a 1989 OMC Cobra 3.0 4 cylinder as 1-3-4-2 ??? I can't get it started. Bad gas sat in it for 1.5 years. It has been drained of that gas, but I only got it to fire up once (ran well) until I backed it down to idle.....it died, now it only turns over but won't start. Getting fuel to carb and fire on all plugs.....LOST

Use some either or a small cap full down carb and see if it will fire.

Your oil combo is not ideal but better than most people who never change it. SAE 30, or 15w-40 diesel oil is what our local shops use.

is the fire all the time. check it at the coil wire see if its blue.if its got points clean in check clean the rotor button and the cap inside on the cotacts. after u set the points use contact cleaner or close them and pull a clean white paper though them to get dirt or oil off 15 to 17000th i allways liked

I had a mechanic check my points and he said they seem fine. They are new as is the condensor. I have a another post the says won't start please help... in there I talk about rebuilding the carb which I am having done as I type this. Hopefully we can get it figured out. Any other ideas besides carb rebuild/ bad gas/ points or wires/ spark plugs..etc... that could keep it from firing up. Like I said, it will turn over smoothly all day, just won't start. It died at idle last time and hasn't started since. (SEE MY OTHER FORUM POSTING PLEASE) I need all the help I can get. Thanks all in advance!
