I have a 85 Merc 115 hp that is smoking badly I think problem is my ex insisted on 2 cycle oil is that the correct oil for my motor??????

Probably okay--maybe too much of it! If it's two stroke oil it's the right stuff. If in doubt, just take it easy until you burn off that tank then use the good stuff--TC-W3. Yours is a two stroke motor, but is it an oil injection type with a separate oil tank or do you have to premix it? If you have to mix it, do 50:1 or 2%.

If your motor has been converted to pre-mix it will smoke more than if it had the oil injection connected. The reason is because oil injection will run the oil in the motor 100 to 1 at idle and 50 to 1 full throttle. Pre-mix is always 50 to 1.
