OK hunters, come and get 'em

We got enough snow in the last 3 hours to completely cover the grass. Now get out there and get those darn deer.<br /><br />On and off 30% chance of rain/snow, all week. Should quiet down the woods, and make tracking a bit easier.<br /><br />Still drier than dung, had 5 grass fires here last week, but this will help some.

Same here roscoe, and then just a little more. It,s still snowing here started yesturday at 1 pm. I hope to get out tonight, we'll see.

Im ticked! Last night I almost hit this real nice sized buck. I quickly counted four large points on each side of the rack as he ran back away from the road. The problem is this. I live in an area that we can not hunt in, because of the population. We have some patches of woods that these deer hide in. I think they know we can't hunt in that area. I live on the outskirts of town that connects with the outskirts of another one. No country side here and you will be arrested if you discharge a gun. There is just enough woods for these things to hide out.<br /><br />What really stinks is this was right down the road about 6 houses from mine.

I have already taken one with my recurve bow and one with my blackpowder. waas hunting yesterday morning and had a nice six pointer walk by. had my bow but i can only kill one more buck all season long. that includes bow and rifle season. i had to pass on it. I am looking for a couple of does. have a freezer that needs more than the two deer in it. wish we could get some snow here in OK.

I didn't think about the bow. I will have to look into that. I haven't hunted anything with a bow before though. You should have seen this buck. Nice one. I had clear view of his chest and then his side as he turned back away. I just stopped and started imaging sites on him. I think I need to get out this year.

We've had an excellent summer here, and the good<br />weather has been hanging on. But the forecast is<br />for a low of -24 on friday, that will get things<br />moving around here. Whitetail opens on Saturday,<br />but I still have to get my Elk before I start<br />chasing deer.

Sam, if that buck is holding up where you think it is, it should be pretty easy game, since there is no pressure on him. His biggest obstacle is the cars. So get that bow out and go get 'em. They are a lot quieter than rifles!
