Re: old 10 HP Johnson... need parts
Hi Randy,
Your old 15 is one of the best motors OMC ever built. Adding a fuel pump is fairly straightforward - just need an intake port cover with the fuel pump boss cast in from a 1960-early 1970s 18/20/25hp Johnrude. Plug off the pressure line feed, add any block mounted OMC fuel pump and you're off to single line land.
If compression is good (after you've found a head gasket) I'd go ahead and run some de-carbon agent through it (like Sea Foam, OMC Engine Tuner, etc.) and run it! As long as the motor doesn't make any obscene noises or sound like a coffee grinder, it should be good to go. A new water pump impeller and lower unit seal kit will help keep her going. Manuals are available here and on several other sites on the net.
Have fun!
- Scott
