Old 2 stroke oil okay to use?

I have aquired 40 unopened bottles of Nissan 2 cycle outboard motor oil but it is around 15 years old. The oil has been sitting on a shelf in a heated warehouse all these years and I was wondering if it would be safe to use? I can see no visible separation in the oil if that makes a difference.

Do they have the old TC-W2 rating on it or the newer TC-W3 rating? Not sure I'd use it if was TC-W2. And definitely wouldn't use it in any of the newer TLDI (direct injected 2str) motors.

FWIW, I wouldn't think oil would go "bad" just sitting on a shelf for 15+ years (after all, it was in the ground for millions of years before that) But who knows...maybe all the additives, etc they put in to it goes bad. I'm sure some of the dealers that frequent this board would have a better gauge of the shelf-life of oil.

Open a bottle and smell it...If it has a rotted smell or has a brownish color its bad.
