Re: Old Boat Motor

Your best bet is to do a search on www.google.com
Search for antique outboard clubs.

Or go to ebay and search for "antique outboard."

I guess it is worth whatever you can get someone to pay.

Re: Old Boat Motor

You must have a Lightwin, my husband and I have a 1938 Lightwin. As old as they are they probably aren't worth as much as you would think. We only paid $35 for ours and it is in great condition, but then I purchased it as part of a large group of motors. Value depends on several things: is it complete? does it run? how does it look(paint/decals)? Basically what it comes down to is condition, condition, condition.
If you want to sell it I would suggest placing an ad(free) on the Antique Outboard site (see the link below)saying best offer, no prices are allowed in these ads anyhow.

Howdy Roscoe, I've been lurking for awhile and finally decided to register. It's interesting to see all the questions about antique/vintage outboards that show up on this board. And you never know, I might pick up a new recruit or two for our club!
Also this is a pretty fun group, plus lots of knowledge to be found here.
