prop 007.jpgprop 017.jpgvids 007.jpgprop 006.jpgvids 008.jpgWhile snorkling in 100 ft of water I spotted what appeared to be two blades of a prop. As I desended to the bottom, It appeared to be stuck in a large boulder??? When I tried to pull it out, the boulder shook and a head and neck the size of a fench post shot back at me and this head took of my ear. After a 12 minute struggle I managed to break the neck of what I figured to be a 600 lb + snapping turtle and retrieved my ear as well as the brass prop. Here are the pics of the prop and maybe I stretched the truth a bit. Ok alot. Does anybody have any info about it and can use it?

Re: Old brass prop?

Loved the story! Sure the prop can be used, if you have the shaft for it ;-) and if it has the correct pitch for your needs ;-)

However, since you have abused marine life in getting this prop, it is likely to come off your boat as it did the previous owner... he probably also got it in a similar fashion.

Happy boating
