old cable steering to tiller

33 hp ski-twin 33852R E01834 Electric start. Thinking of going to tiller steering. Has no tiller handle. Was thinking if I could leave the throttle and shift where it is and use tiller to steer. Main thing is to get motor going and see how it runs. It is on a old starcraft tri-hull. Long shaft also and may want to convert back to short shaft but that would be in the future if I put it on a different boat.. Had it running last year and steering console collapsed right away . Just was ready to give her hell and make a corner on the river. Thanks Ken

you will play heck trying to find a tiller handle, and the gears for the throttle linkage have to match, as the are part of the tiller handle. suggest installing ezyglide stick steering.
