Re: Old Chrome/New Chrome

There's most likely a local place that does chroming, check the phone book. It's usually not terribly expensive, and they should be able to chrome plate just about anything...

If that fails, find somebody on an older harley that looks really nice..and ask.. he/she will know ;-)

Yellow Pages. Look foe Electroplating.

any idea what it costs? say a very hard to find forward navigation light that was perhaps 4 inches by 8 inches?

Re: Old Chrome/New Chrome

I considered having my control lever re-chromed, so I sent some pics to Nu-chrome and they gave me a quote of 35-50 per piece (2 plates and the arm). That included fixing the pitting too though. I imagine that it would be fairly cheap if you have un-pitted pieces, and do some prep work yourself.

Re: Old Chrome/New Chrome

I thought about rechroming too but found original chocks, cleats and bow light for a 65 vintage glass boat on ebay. Prices were less than buying new and the parts nib. It took a few months for the right pieces to show up for auction but they are original. Lonestar probably used attwood or perko.
