Old Chrysler outboard have telltale??

Hi, I have a chrysler 45hp and thought the impeller was bad because I didn't see a stream above the waterline like most outboards...well the impeller was fine but i replaced it anyhow. It still doesn't have a telltale stream but it is pumping great from three places below the waterline. It is an older engine from the 70's. is it possible there isn't a telltale on this motor? thanks,<br /><br />Rich

Rich the old chryslers like yours should have a stream of water out of the exhaust while running this acts as a tell tail when you fire it up just take a look and see if its spitting water
