So recently I got ahold of an old 72 14ft Crosby sea sled. Well used with it's own host of issues. But sturdy enough to finish out the season. I noticed the layout of mine is a bit different from what I've seen. Most tend to have a bench in the middle with a seat and a seat up front on the deck. This one just has two seats. The rear one and a single pedestal seat in the front center.

I've heard these dont have stringers? Just foam filled under the floor?

Boats rated to 40hp I currently have a 25hp. Now with a full load. Me 250lbs. My buddy 170lbs. Say 200lbs in gear. The boat runs right at 20mph. That sound right for 25hp on these boats with a load?

I’m not familiar with that boat but looking at pics it looks her and solid. Are you getting on plane okay? If not try adjusting your tilt and see if it helps any but your likely not going to get much more out of it. Hopefully other will chime in soon

Planes pretty decent. Doesn't feel sluggish. Trim is all the way down at the moment

That speed sounds about right for a 25hp with that much load on a 14ft hull. They are foam-filled for flotation, not structured with traditional wooden stringers. The lack of a middle bench is an older layout, less common but not unusual. A 40hp would get you on plane easier and add significant speed.
