My father-in-law just dug out an old Evinrude 7.5(#7518-53630)looks like 50's or 60's by the style.
It looks in quite good condition though not run in decades. My question is, do old outboards like this have any value for collectors? Should he put it up on ebay or let it collect dust in his garage for another 50 years?

Re: old evinrude

its worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

If it works its worth more, if it doesn't run, then its worth nothing.

are you interested in selling it? I restore these motors :)

Re: old evinrude

I'm sure my father-in-law would sell it, though I would have to go through it and make sure it works; it hasn't been run in a very long time. Folks should also be aware that we are located in Vancouver, BC. issues such as distance, borders are not insurmountable, but they are there. At any rate, I'll post more details when I've had a better look at the thing.
