You Guys are scaring me. 6 months, everyone who stores a boat here on Long Island will store 100-150 gallons of fuel for at least 7-8 months. I tried to sell mine last year so my fuel is about 12 months+. My outboard started right up. Should I be concerned about 100-150 gallons of stabilized fuel???
Michael

Re: Old Gas???????

What we are concerned about is the loss of octane that happens so quickly. This is why we see a rash of scuffed pistons each spring as boats come out of storage. Sta-bil claims to have the answer about retaining octane as well as keeping the fuel from turning to varnish.

Personally, I prefer to stick with fresh fuel. I don't need the practice of changing pistons.

Good luck!
