old johnson starters

My motor is a 1958 35hp Super Seahorse RDSL-20. The windings are shot and I've found two starters off of 57 model 35hps. I believe the 57s were RD19C? Did these two models use the same starter? I know that the mounting bracket is a little different, but my bracket is still in good shape.<br />Thanks<br />Tom

I am not certain, but I would give one a try. If it doesn't fit maybe take the 2 and make one!

Thanks for the response rwise<br /> They look identical except for the mount ... and actually the bolt pattern on the different mount looks pretty much the same as mine. <br />Tom
