The local junk man has an old Lone-Star about 12-13 footer he is going to scrap. I can own it for $75, It has fins, two seats,is alum. and seems to be in pretty good shape. Its upside down so I didn't get a good look at the inside. There is no front deck, dash or steering wheel.Should I buy it or is the scrap pile the place it should be?

$75 is a steal. Even if it's just got a bench seat and a you throw a tillered motor on it's a good deal. But from what I've read, LoneStar boats were a nice little aluminum boat and would make a great project for the right price (and $75 is pretty close :D )

Fins! Put a matching motor on it and you have the coolest boat on the lake. Go for it.

Get it!

If nothing else you can fill it with potting soil and have the most unique planter box in the neighborhood.
:D

The darn thing is still there, I was hoping someone else would buy it. I already have a 12 foot MFG I don't use, A 12 foot alum. I don't use much , 2 conoes I havn't used in a couple years and a 16 foot alum bass boat. What the heck, maybe I'll make an offer on it.

If you buy it, you can trade posts with other finned aluminum boat fans like me on wwww.retrocrestliner.com.

We are starting to welcome similar make boats, and the LoneStar certainly is one.
