I inherited a boat from my father and it has an old Lowrance x22a in the dash. Issue these things were factory installed in a lot of boats (Lawrence must have had a great deal going then) but anyway, the transducer is thru hull and keeps good bottom at speeds but head unit is shot. I need to know what other older head units or newer would hook up to those cables already installed. Or if they have an adapter that I could use to hook up newer units from Lowrance or older. If an older unit with work what would some of you guys that had experience back in the late 90's recommend I look for. Boat is 1997 so I say this was put in around 96-97. Have no clue what the thru hull transducer is because you can't get to it. Thank a bunch folks. MOD EDITED

I Can say that the cable connections and cables have changed several times in the last 20 years.
So nothing new will connect.
Very unlikely you will find anything old that will work, and is worth the price or chance.

New ones are so cheap, and much better, probably better off buying new.

If you are set on finding a replacement head, contact lowrance support and ask them directly.

Also, if your skimmer transducer looks like the one on the link for the manual, I have the same one and it works with the Simrad GO unit that was on the boat when I bought it. Neither is installed now since I switched to Garmin.

Transducers have a life expectancy. Bite the bullet and buy a complete new unit.

Nothing like spending time and money for a replacement head only to have the transducer take a dump a short time later
