I am looking at a 1972 Mako 22 for purchase.
Does anyone have any input on problems to look out for? The boat is relatively sound. The biggest concerns are the fuel tank and hull and deck problems. Walking on the deck seems to be solid. Am i crazy to purchase such an old boat.
Generally it seems to be very well built. Any advice????
Michael

Re: Old MAKO

I think older Mako's are very popular for project boats. Check out classicmako.com, there are some great looking projects on there.

Re: Old MAKO

A Mako is a good choice ,even if it is an older one.I have an 82 and it rides like a rock.I have been in some rough water that most 17ft boats would not fare well in and the Mako made it look easy. Many people on Long Island have Have them as old as yours.Charlie
