I recently purchased a 1969 50 horse Merc.,and it is need of fuel lines from the pump to the carb. These guys are expensive from the dealer, can someone tell me where I can get aftermarket, or can I replace them with a couple of barbed fittings and common fuel line? Thanks in advance.
DC

I would just use common fuel line that you can pick up from an auto parts store.

Tack the word "marine" on something and the price goes through the roof!

I paid $60.00 for a Distributor cap!!

Thanks, I have not pulled the lines yet, but was not sure if that would work since the stock lines are made like hydraulic lines. Much appreciated !! :D

Get yourself some brass NPT fittings in the appropriate angles and configurations, some compatible fuel line, some good hose clamps and you're back in business!
- Scott

Yeah, I replaced my fuel lines on my 76 Merc with regular ol' auto fuel line hose. I think I bought it at AutoZone for $.75 a foot.
