Old OMC/Johnson controls on 1999 Yamaha 4-stroke?

I'm replacing my 1984 75hp Johnson with a 1999 Yamaha 4-stroke and I'm wondering if my old OMC controls would work?

Throttle & shift:
Both engines have push to open throttle. Shift control on the OMC unit is pull for forward, and push for reverse. I have no idea if the Yamaha is the same. Throttle and shift cable throw looks to be fine. The cables don't look like they will work. I don't mind buying new ones beause they are too long anyway. Will standard teleflex cables work with my OMC throttle??

Wiring:
Obviously the plug is different. Does anyone sell just the 10 pin yamaha plug? I don't want to spent $80 for a harness extension I'm just going to hack up.

Before I waste any more time and money I'd really appreciate some advice.

From the pics I found it looks like my forward cable ends are much different so new cables will work with the engine but not control. Can I dremel a couple nothes on the old cables to work on my yamaha?

jmo, but id buy the proper parts to do that job. nothing worse than pulling back on the throttle only to find that it isnt slowing down, or going for reverse in an emergency stop situation only to find you have no reverse.

That's probably what I'll do but I'm having a hard time finding the right controls. I have a center console and I prefer my throttle on the right. I can get Yamaha 703 controls but if they are right handed I'll have to make a custom hokey mount. If they are left handed the trim switch will be on the wrong side. I don't have room for a Yamaha 704 binnacle.

Poke around on Ebay and see what you can find, Teleflex makes a really good universal control box also, look into that but I agree, steering and your control box are 2 things you don't want to McGuyver.

The throw on the two boxes is probably different anyhow, one cable would move too fast or not far enough so I doubt it would work.

As far as my old box I measured the throws and it was actually a better fit for my Yamaha than the Johnson it's been operating for the last 28 years. If I notch the cables it would work but I wouldn't be able to adjust them and I'm pretty sure no one sells cables with type-o on the control side and yamaha on the engine side. I don't mind spending good money on porridge but I prefer it to be just right. I'll look into the universal teleflex boxes. Thanks for the tip.
