I have a 1965 60 hp V-4 Evinrude (60552) and am having trouble finding parts. You guys have helped with PN for my generator (thanks) but I want to rebuild the water pump and all I can find is the impeller. I need gaskets, seals and o-rings also. Everywhere I have tried stops at 1968, Evinrude.com, I-boats etc. Anymore ideas? I want to keep this motor. Thanks

Is there similar designs between the 1968 version and your 1965? I mean does the 1968 version look similar to your engine? If so there is a real good possibility that the same water pump design was used in your engine as used in the 1968 version. Water pump design isn't something that I would think they redesign each year. Using the same type pump, impellor and housing saves them manufacturing cost. So maybe, just maybe they are the same... IDK.

These parts were on the old OMC microfiche exploded parts diagrams-which some dealers still have. If it were me, I contact outboardbooks.com and ask this original publisher for a photocopy of an original parts pamphlet for this exact engine. Comes with all the diagrams of every major system and should be reasonably priced, since it is maybe 20 pages. This exploded parts diagram pamphlet will have all the original factory part numbers. You can feed these original number to any current Bombardier dealer and they will tell you any supercession part number string. All Evinrude dealers have access to an (internal only) factory-sponsored dealer inventory listing of parts on hand at many of their larger dealers. It lists all dealer parts on hand across the US, including any of the old/obsolete ones. You'd be surprised how many obsolete (new) OMC parts are still on hand in dealer inventory across America. That may be helpful when looking for other parts for your engine.

Go to Marineengine.com and pull up your motor and you will find that the items 1 thru 10 that you need are all in stock on the gearcase page. The priciest one is the pump housing but with luck you won't need that.I'm sure they do a kit with all the bits you want, give them a call.

FR, a great picture. Certainly better than looking at the old microfiche-sometimes they are like looking at an eye test with the wrong glasses!

I second Willyclay: try Dan Gano. He helped me out with a ton of NLA parts and is a reasonable guy to deal with.
